Psalm 2vs. 1-3 The nations plot rebellion against Godvs. 4-6 The LORD scoffs at the nations who seek to defy Himvs. 7-9 The LORD's King will rule all nations with a rod of ironvs. 10-12 Resistance is futile and the only option is surrender to God verse 7 is applied to the baptism of Jesus- Matthew 3:16-17- and transfiguration- Matthew 17:1-5. It is applied to the resurrection of Jesus- Acts 13:33. See also Hebrews 1:5; 5:5.vs. 9 is applied to Jesus in Revelation 12:5; 19:15 and to Christians in Revelation 2:26-27.
