Episode Synopsis
In honor of both Black History Month this February 2023 and the upcoming Women's History Month in March 2023, CMHC was excited to host a unique webinar that highlighted some of the challenges and advances in managing cardiometabolic health in these populations. Dr. Ferdinand led a discussion with Drs. James Gavin and Rachel Bond about the importance of diversity and inclusion in cardiometabolic health, with a focus on social determinants of health in the management of diabetes, managing women's cardiovascular risk across the lifespan, as well as strategies for multidisciplinary collaboration. The webinar opened forum and will aim to offer real discussion on practical strategies to advance care and optimize outcomes.
