Author Michelle Aung Thin was born in Burma at a time of great unrest in the country. Her parents brought her to Ottawa where she grew up. She now lives in Australia and through her work at RMIT University in Melboure, explores many critical aspects of social and cultural life much of it focused on Burma, the country now known as Myanamah.
