Dr. Nirupama Kulkarni is an applied economist and the Research Director at CAFRAL, which is promoted by the RBI. Her research interests include banking, corporate finance, household finance, and real estate. She is particularly interested in how government intervention influences bank, borrower, and household decisions. She has written many papers which have been published in well renowned journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and The World Economy.
