Worship started with Drew welcoming everyone and inviting them to join us. Then, Heather Stapleton gave a stewardship moment. The third song was "I'm So Blessed," which talked about being grateful for God's blessings in life. The scripture reading was about Jesus calling his disciples to deny themselves and follow him, and the transfiguration where Jesus was revealed as God's son. Rev. Dr. Anna V. Copeland delivered the sermon entitled Spiritual Cataracts. The post-sermon anthem was "Rescue." Next up, Rev. Elizabeth Johnson led the prayers for the people, mentioning the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the war in Ukraine, those struggling with illness and grief, and more. The service ended with the song "God is in the House."
