We're diving deep into the archive now! This episode of Butter Bytes features an article from the debut issue of Butter Mag in March of 2022. Though it was published less than two years ago, I feel like I wrote this in an entire different lifetime. It's been interesting (see painful) going back and seeing how my writing style has changed since starting Butter. I have definitely gotten much more concise. But it is still fun to see how I've grown as a writer!
As for the episode, we get to meet trans skater AJ Waters who's Portland based all together park, Stronger Skatepark, is an amazing example of creating inclusive space within the skate community. It was also through the power of that community that Stronger Skatepark was able to weather the storm of two closures during the shutdowns of 2020 and 2021.
