Are we teaching children mindfulness techniques in order to help them grow as people or as one more desperate effort for behavior management in the classroom? One helps us as a society, one only ingrains mindless obedience and disdain for strategies to increase mental wellness. Additionally, are we using "mindfulness" techniques as an unsatisfactory stopgap because of a legitimately broken education system?
