Send us a textPeter and the interviewer discussed the meaning of a business mindset to Peter. He believes that being positive and learning from mistakes is key to success. He also discussed his upbringing, having gone to Cooper's for senior school and the Bell School for junior school. The interviewer then asked Peter to tell them one thing about his upbringing that reflects on who he is today, to which he replied that, like the interviewer, he is from a similar background. He asked the interviewer what school they went to, to which the interviewer replied that they went to Monteagle. The conversation tells the story of a man's experience of going professional in rugby while in school. The man talks about how he was five years ahead of his friend in terms of going professional, and how he would come back to the school to talk to aspiring rugby players. He reflects on the importance of giving back, and how teachers are often underrated and underpaid. He also mentions that he had a 10 month trading assistant job at Merrill Lynch during his university degree, which was a great opportunity and taught him a lot. He also says that his parents were very supportive throughout his journey, and that it's important to have supportive teachers and parents to help kids reach their potential.The speaker was talking about his experience of taking a gap year between high school and university. He spent six months in the city working in a finance office and six months at Cooper's with Nick and Eddie Veen, teaching economics and helping out in the sports department. He then went on to become a professional rugby player at Wasps. On his first day, he was one of three out of the whole squad who were from comprehensive schools. He describes the team as great and mentions many of the players on it.
