Season 2, y’all!! I’m interviewing folks on the island of Barbados. In Episode 1, I chat with Daveny Ellis, a poet, writer, content creator, and communications specialist who lives in St Philips, Barbados.
We chat about the importance of preserving the unique culture of Barbados through Artistry, and the struggle to create space that is representative in this post-colonial society. We also get into the history of Barbados’ dialect, the power of being truthful in your art, and the difference between existing in a country where you are a majority vs coming to the US as a minority.
