Listen "As in the days of Noah"
Episode Synopsis
As in the Days of Noah
Welcome to this week’s episode. We have dedicated this series to understanding from Scripture about the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. As you go through these teachings it is our desire that you come out with a greater understanding of what it means to prepare for His coming.
The Variations of Interpretations
Each denomination has its own interpretation of Scripture which colours their view of eschatology. As believers it’s important that we avoid the frog in the well situation, where we are limited to a narrow understanding. We must daily ask the Lord for understanding and truth. There are so many concepts and different ideas when it comes to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Undoubtedly there are common denominators, things which are uncompromising and set in stone. That being, that there will be a visible second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord will definitely return for His Church, and His enemies will be scattered and defeated. This is the cornerstone of Christian eschatology.
Traits of the Days of Noah
If we can unpack the timeline of Noah, we will have a better understanding of the signs and symptoms of His coming.
1- Explosion of Population
In the days of Noah there was the first mega population outbreak. It was an unprecedented time of population increase.
2- Marked with Technological Advancements
In those times people learned to use metals and different resources to build cities. Even today, we are living in a time where technology has grown so much.
3- Wide Spread Knowledge Sharing
Communication became easier in those times.
4- Mankind Had no Regard for God
While Moses was preaching, the others were busy drinking, marrying and worrying about the things of this world. Nobody thought about God. Even now, there are signs that our generation sees no value in religion. There is a lack of consideration for Christ and His Word.
Noah preached for 100 years. He was a preacher of righteousness, he warned about the coming flood. The only people he managed to save was his own immediate family.
The unsettling reality is that a generation can have the presence of a speaker of truth, and still not discern truth. Noah’s generation could not perceive the voice of God coming through a man. They could not recognise him, nor could they recognise the God that sent him.
May we never come to a place where we think we know everything and can’t discern the truth. May we always be able to hear the sound of truth.
When we see both these family lines, one was cursed by God and cast away from His presence. The other was regarded by God but murdered (Abel). One was extremely successful but the other was carrying the favour, likeness and grace of God.
The birth of Enosh marked the first account of prayer because of a man who was carrying the image of God. He was consecrated to the Lord. His great-grandfather was murdered because of his spirituality (Abel).
We live in a time where the Church will be persecuted because of belief systems. Simultaneously there will be a birthing of a generation, a move of God which will bring a worldwide revival. It’ll be a movement of prayer, holiness and righteousness where people will become suddenly aware that they need G
How God Measures Success
We read what was recorded about the descendants of Cain, and we also read about the descendants of the likeness of God and there’s no accomplishment or outright success that can be boasted about.
God sees success differently. Success is not measured by what you achieve, but by the preservation of the image and likeness passed down to you.
How did you preserve the seed, grace, testimony that has been given to you?
