In this sermon we had the privilege of hearing from a guest preacher, Sibusiso Mlotshwa. Sibusiso, dived into Luke 5:1-11. In this passage we witness the miraculous catch of fish by Simon, Peter, James, and John. The overflowing catch of fish leaves Simon and Peter in awe of Jesus' power and authority. However, what follows is even more astonishing. Jesus tells Simon and Peter to not be afraid and that they will no longer be catching fish but rather catching people as they become disciples and follow Jesus. This passage demonstrates the abundant and undeserved grace that Jesus offers to all of us. Just like how Jesus saw potential in Simon and Peter, He sees potential in each and every one of us. No matter our past mistakes or shortcomings, Jesus offers us the opportunity to become His disciples and serve Him.
