Despite the thousands of potential new varieties that are crossed every year, it’s not often that a hop enters commercial trials and even more rare for a hope to graduate to full commercialisation. 
Today HPA celebrates that milestone with the hop that has been trialled as HPA-016. It’s a hop that has created genuine excitement amongst brewers. So as HPA launches Eclipse, BreweryPro caught up with HPA’s Sales and Marketing Manager Owen Johnston to talk about the development and commercialisation of the hop, as well as Deeds Brewing’s Justin Corbitt, who has trialled Eclipse as HPA-016, and also used it in the beer Deeds contributed to a special Eclipse launch pack.
