Episode Synopsis
Welcome back to the Breakthroughs with Bre Podcast! In today’s episode, Bre is sharing the story of her miscarriage at the time she was starting her own business and the deep spiritual growth that came out of this experience.
*Trigger warnings: This episode deepens into pregnancy loss, miscarriage, and topics related to fertility. Please listen at your own discretion to ensure your highest and best health.
3:43 - The Miscarriage Story
Deciding to try for a baby in 2019 and the experience of finally seeing the second line on her first positive pregnancy test in 2022, right when she was about to launch her own business.
Friday 22nd April 2022: The launch of Bre’s business and learning she was miscarrying.
Getting in touch with a Doula and receiving some mindset-shifting advice changed the trajectory of Bre’s night.
Experiencing contractions, hospital visit, and the experience post-pregnancy loss.
44:15 - Emotional Growth & Spiritual Lessons
Being able to appreciate the moment after years of trying to get pregnant; not focusing and predicting the outcome of a healthy baby after 9 months, but truly being present and in the moment of being pregnant.
Bre’s experience with going through two life events on opposite ends of an emotional scale at the exact same time is proof that you can feel two emotions at once without one diminishing the other.
The kindness and support of others through this emotional time and how impactful that can be on someone struggling. Bre also shares the short story of a beautiful act of kindness from a stranger.
Feeling upset or sad about a pregnancy loss doesn’t mean someone thinks they won’t get pregnant, or that they aren’t hopeful for future pregnancies.
1:02:35 - Being supportive to someone going through pregnancy loss and fertility
Why you shouldn’t ask if someone is pregnant regardless of good intentions.
Not taking things personally when your loved one, struggling with pregnancy loss, isn’t reaching out to you or discussing every detail with you.
As a partner of someone going through pregnancy loss, the importance of being mentally, physically, and emotionally present for your partner during this time. Bre discusses the support from her partner and how it was everything she could need during that journey.
The support you can provide to a colleague going through pregnancy loss in the workplace.
1:22:05 Final Messages of Comfort
Bre shares something for all those going through or having gone through pregnancy loss that brought a lot of comfort.
