For the first time in seven years, the Minnesota Wild will miss the playoffs, being mathematically eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche in the standings. Despite playing very well this past week, the unacceptable losses that mounted earlier in the season and even recently, was their undoing. Luckily, with a new wave of young players coming in, the future doesn't look bad at all.
