Our brains are processing and analyzing information 24 hours per day. Many of us are having an ongoing dialogue with ourselves, be it positive or negative. What we are thinking has an impact on how we feel and how we behave in the world. While we know that positive thoughts (or positive self-talk) can boost our mood and productivity and increase our self-confidence while negative thoughts (negative self-talk) can hinder our self-esteem, worsen our mood, and may lead to missed opportunities.
While we all have negative self-talk from time-to-time, ongoing negative self-talk can be toxic to your wellbeing.
