Trismegistus is a legendary author of works on magic, alchemy, and astrology. He is also considered the inspiration for the spiritual teachings known as Hermeticism. Alchemists  and Agnostics considered Hermes Trismegistus their patron or Head of their belief system.     Many Christian writers believed that Hermes Trismegistus was a pagan prophet who foresaw the coming of Christianity.    The symbol for Hermes Trismegistus is that of modern doctors, the caduceus.
