It's been called the most beautiful book in the world - a book with a mysterious history - and an ongoing source of inspiration and fascination: The Book of Kells. The Medieval illuminated manuscript containing the four Gospels of the Christian New Testament currently housed at Trinity College in Dublin and accessible to ALL via the web! In this episode Katie explains the storied history of the book and some of the strange, wonderful motifs you'll find in the Book of Kells - from peacocks to Celtic knots to intricate letters. We'll also discuss how a work of such depth and artistry reminds us to look closer and appreciate physical objects.
