The use of new artificial intelligence to gather data on immigrants in the United States is expected to increase after the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement purchased almost $10 million for new facial recognition technology.
According to reports, the $9.2 million contract with Clearview AI is for the agency’s Homeland Security Investigations teams data to use in cases where law enforcement officers were assaulted, and in cases of child sexual exploitation.
