It is said that our ancestors who tilled soils in the night utilized CHANT & SONG to maintain through slave labor. The colloquial antebellum slur was then coined “mooncricket”, to mimic their CHANTS & SONGS emerging from fields similar to restless crickets in the night.

Surely CHANT & SONG is a technology used to maintain at the backdrop of state sanctioned horror. And those that employ this sacred technology are practitioners, not of survival, but of life’s truest rhythm… love. Therefore the Black predecessors who escape into the night and chant and sing alongside crickets in the marsh converge in this sacred knowing.
