We’re delighted to speak to Dr Michael Mattarock, who is the Associate Director and an Assistant Teaching Professor, at the Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Before joining the INI, Mike served as the executive director of National Security Research at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). He developed and implemented strategies to enhance the national security research portfolio across CM. Today talk about Mike’s research area, contested logistics, helping listeners understand what the research field includes, why it is important and what should people in defence be thinking about in this area. Presenter Zena Wood is an Associate Professor in Digital Economy at the University of Exeter and Director of the Defence Data Research Centre (DDRC). Professor Wood’s background is in Computer Science with her research focusing on how value can be derived from datasets that would help understand the impact of digital transformation within the Digital Economy and the Defence sector.
