Listen "Change is Good"
Episode Synopsis
Today we chat a bit about Freya getting her first set of shoes in two years, and how the end of Freya’s barefoot journey played head games with Camri. Neither barefoot or shod means failure in a hoofcare journey. Trying to keep to one “camp” without regard for the comfort and soundness of the horse is not helpful for the horse. Keeping our horse as sound and comfortable as possible for the short and long term can mean changing the plan when needed, and continually re-evaluating.
We also discuss McKayla’s upcoming move to Washington state. Her husband recently finished his masters program and got a new job. So many exciting changes are ahead! Phases of life for horses and humans are normal, and change is good. Change forces us to take stock of what we have, make plans for the future, and helps us get out of our comfort zones in so many good ways.
