Prayer for the Lord’s return (v. 13)**• Ps 51:3-4 – 3 For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me.4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight,So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge.• Ps 32:3-5 – 3 When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted awayThrough my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin.• Num 23:19a – 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; *2. Prayer for God to remember His covenant (vv .14-15)*• Matt 5:6 – “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. For they shall be satisfied.”• Ps 37:4-6 – 4 Delight yourself in the Lord;And He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord,Trust also in Him, and He will do it. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the lightAnd your judgment as the noonday.• Ps 63:1-4 – O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4 So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.• Ps 42:1-2 – As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?• Mal 3:6-7 – 6 “For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. 7 “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.• Lam 3:22 (NIV) – 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.• Jer 9:24 – 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.• Ex 34:6-7 – 6 Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin;*3. Prayer for God’s work to be seen in man’s work (vv. 16,17)*• Hab 3:2 – Lord, I have heard the report about You and I fear. O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years, In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.• 1 Cor 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
