The theme of this section is the love of God for His people. God is for His people and only His people! But a lot of people mistakenly think that God is on their side. Hitler thought God was on Germany’s side. We hear the same language used by political parties in our country with grand claims that they are doing the will of God, and so quite obviously, He must be on their side. So what about you? Is God on your side? How do you know? As Jeremiah received God’s call, he trembled at the thought of taking God’s Word to a stubborn people. But the Lord assured him: "They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you," declares the LORD.
