Elena is a geotechnical engineer and Assistant Professor of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Elena and I mostly discuss her new findings of the Mount Polley TSF failure and how that changes the way we need to think about slope stability. This work is the subject of Elena's PhD dissertation.
