We just watched the new Superman streaming on HBO Max, and… yikes! For longtime Superman fans, this was a letdown, glossy visuals, loud action, and a script packed with meme references, TikTok energy, and Gen Z/Gen Alpha humor. There’s little of the depth or wonder adults remember from Superman; instead, this reboot plays strictly for the Fortnite generation. The cast is young, the jokes are relentless, and any sense of gravity or myth is swapped for viral catchphrases and shallow sentimentality.
