Listen " Steve Ryan Carter: When Church Scandal Hits Home "
Episode Synopsis
Steve Carter had landed a dream job, with a mentor he looked up to in a community he loved at Willow Creek Church. Overnight, everything changed. When abuse allegations revealed scandal, Steve was faced with the choice of following the direction of the megachurch governance or stepping out with integrity to do what was right. In this episode, Steve bravely and vulnerably talks about what it was like to believe the women who had become victims and face the backlash he faced because of it.
*Content warning: We do not go into any specifics or details but there is mention of sexual abuse in this conversation. Our hope is that anyone who has experienced abuse will find healing in this episode so you can begin to see a new way forward.
