Despite earthly circumstances, God's work continues unhindered. Despite humble or difficult appearances, God's purposes and will advance undeterred behind the scenes. We as believers need to see beyond surface-level earthly circumstances and trust in God's continual unseen work that supersedes all apparent chaos or troubles in the world, both on a global scale and in our own personal lives of toil and trouble. And that is portrayed for us wonderfully in the first advent of our Lord and the context surrounding his birth.
