We are taught to demean ourselves and build ourselves up with image, power, money, sexual prowess, and short-circuit our own presence and make use of either a man or woman to mirror back to ourselves our own self-worth. Once that person doesn’t do “that” any longer the person is rejected. Only the bubble or veil that is a self-created illusion is shattered, while the veil to oneself is not. To end placing someone on a pedestal we must receive our own gifts and love and mend our own short comings and character deficits.
