Listen "Shto Mi Milo"
Episode Synopsis
This is a Macedonian folksong that my stepdaughter Abigail and I did as part of a Christmas/Hanukka present for her mom. Abby sings with the Yale Slavic Chorus and has been schooling me in the various GREAT Eastern European choral traditions. We were in a hurry, since in the three hours Madame was out of the house we got the idea, came up with three tunes, rehearsed, recorded and burned CD's of them. So I accompanied using the bottom two (of three) parts, and overdubbed the melody in the intro and third verse, but as soon as I get a minute I'll get a solo tab up. There's a bunch of this stuff that would be gorgeous on the banjo.
Oh - and the present was a huge hit.
