What if I told you that the British were actually not gentlemen and their accents have you fooled? In the later years of Ottoman Palestine (1880s-1918), there began to be waves of Jewish migration into the land as a means of escaping European persecution. As Ottoman complacency on the issue arose, the environment for which the State of Israel would come to exist began taking form.
