Episode Synopsis

Free/Libre software is software that respects the user's freedom. Software that meets the "four essential freedoms" is considered Free/Libre. The Free Software Movement was started by Richard Stallman to to pursue the liberation of cyberspace, to create a free digital world for computers users.Richard Stallman started the GNU project to develop an operating system for this, and pioneered the concept of copyleft with their GNU GPL license. Copyleft is a specific kind of a Free/Libre license among many, that guarantees that the user's freedom is preserved when the software exchanges hands. The four freedoms of Free Software are: (0) to run the program, (1) to study and change the program in source code form, (2) to redistribute exact copies, and (3) to distribute modified versions.Visit GNU.org for more https://www.gnu.orgMake Debian 100% Free! - From Debian Social Contract versions 1.1 and 1.2 "Debian will remain 100% free", make it so.I object to the Version 1.2 ratified on October 1st, 2022 of the Debian Social Contract, specifically for the change it brought with it, the introduction of this line "The Debian official media may include firmware that is otherwise not part of the Debian system to enable use of Debian with hardware that requires such firmware." was a mistake and should not have been done, I don't recognize that version of the Social Contract. The version of the Debian Social Contract ought to be reverted back to Version 1.1 ratified on April 26th, 2004I am not in full support the earlier version prior to 1.2 version either with it's section 5, "Programs That Don't Meet Our Free-Software Standards" in the sense that it has the inclusion of the proprietary repositories, and in order to make the distro FSF approved which is what I want, those need to go. So I'm not opposed to the idea of there being later revisions, what I'm against is specific revisions that increase proprietary software. If the later revisions lessened the amount of proprietary software instead of increasing it, then that I will support, and that's what I'm proposing with my speech; Let the version 1.3 as a new version be the same text as the 1.0 except without the Section 5 "Programs That Don't Meet Our Free-Software Standards", this would be the ideal Debian Social Contract allowing for FSF approval and respecting the freedom of computer users. file details: FLAC audio mono s16 44100hz noise reduction applied volume peaks at 0dB
