"Do not walk as the Gentiles do."  When I read this verse I am shocked by the Word in contrast to the world in terms of living a life of greatness that reflects the image of God in us.  The corruption of our nature and the lifestyle evident in our culture tells me Paul would preach these words to our leaders and to everyone in America. Yet, the state of the church often mirrors the state of the Gentiles in what we value and how we live.  Paul wrote in his day that the Gentiles lived in "the futility of mind, darkened understanding, alienated from the life of God because of their ignorance, blindness in their heart, given over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness and greediness." May we put to death the ways of the Gentiles and put on Christ.
