Listen "The Lost Boys with The Doc"
Episode Synopsis
This week we review the 1987 American supernatural black comedy horror film The Lost Boys directed by Joel Schumacher.
The film's ensemble cast includes Corey Feldman, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim, Edward Herrmann, Barnard Hughes, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, and Dianne Wiest.
The film follows two teenage brothers (Corey Feldman and Corey Haim) who move with their divorced mother (Dianne Wiest) to the fictional town of Santa Carla, California, only to discover that the town is a haven for vampires.
The title is a reference to the Lost Boys in J. M. Barrie's stories about Peter Pan and Neverland, who, like vampires, never grow up.
We welcome back Doc Andrew in this podcast. And there are fireworks from the start. The Scotsman delighted to have someone in the studio with some movie appreciation. Someone with movie knowledge.
The Doc loves this. The Scotsman loves this. The Aussie hates it with a passion and he makes that quite obvious. "holes in this film i can drive a truck through" he says.
It take a while for Andrew to get a word in around the boys banter and the Scotsman over exuberance but he warms up and gets going around the 5min mark.
There is one positive. The Aussie and the Doc bond over their love of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.
