Listen "The Intouchables with the Doc"
Episode Synopsis
This week we review the 2011 French buddy comedy-drama film The Intouchables, also known as Untouchable in the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia written and directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.
It stars François Cluzet and Omar Sy.
The plot of the film is inspired by the true story of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo and his French-Algerian carer Abdel Sellou.
This is a fantastic film brought to our podcast studio by fan favourite, The Doc.
A must watch movie - you don't need to have watched this movie - as it is based on a true story to listen.
This is a bittersweet story between a wealthy paraplegic and his carer.
Massive call early on by the Scotsman who says: "this is one of the best movies he has seen in a long time.
The chemistry between the main actors is infectious.
The Doc says "it's a feel good pick me up film". And he is right - this is a must watch - have we said that?
The Doc talks about joy in the face of adversity as we get a bit deep and heavy for a while.
The Aussie remains all salesy and commercial when it comes to discussing friendships, rambling on about values and cost benefit analyses of what a friend brings to a relationship.
We finish with a debate on who is the best actor between the two main characters.
