In this episode of the Creative Spaces podcast, we're talking to bassist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and award-winning music educator, Tony Grey. Tony graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2001 with the prestigious "Outstanding Performer" Award. Tony has collaborated and performed with some of the world's greatest musicians, including John McLaughlin, Bob James, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Gavin DeGraw, Dennis Chambers, Gary Husband, Mike Stern, and many, many others. Tony has produced and released four solo albums and is currently working on a number of new projects. In 2012, Tony launched the Tony Grey Bass Academy, a complete and structured, online music curriculum, designed to take players from the beginning of their journey through music, all the way to the very end and beyond, learning music creatively rather than mechanically. Tony joins us from his personal studio located in Pennsylvania. Tony talks about his rocky road to becoming a musician, his passion for teaching, and his love of darts and boxing.
