Sermon Title: A Pilgrimage Toward the King(dom). Preacher: Deacon Stephanie Anderson. Preaching Text: Luke 19:28-40. Today, we enter Holy Week with the joyful yet complicated procession of Palm Sunday. As Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a colt, the crowd erupts with shouts of praise: Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! But even in their celebration, tension lingers 0 some resist this declaration, and Jesus knows where this road will lead. Palm branches and cloaks laid before him signal hope and expectation, yet the same city will soon call for his crucifixion. As we wave our own palms today, we join the ancient chorus of praise, even as we recognize the weight of the week ahead. In this moment, we proclaim Christ as King - not a ruler of power and might, but one who brings peace through love, humility, and self-giving. May this journey through Holy Week draw us deeper into the story of God's redeeming grace.
