The EMP is a potentially devastating surge of electricity accompanying a nuclear explosion. It can wreck unshielded electronics and electrical systems. Meanwhile, the nuclear ambitions of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran also bring the EMP threat into stark relief.
