"You can do this"Based on § 312.1 Literacy Requirements"(a) General: Except as outlined in paragraph (b), no one can be naturalized as a U.S. citizen unless they can demonstrate an understanding of the English language, including the ability to read, write, and speak words commonly used in English.""(b) Exceptions: The following individuals are not required to prove their ability to read, write, and speak standard English:""(1) Anyone over 50 years old at the time of their naturalization application who has lived in the U.S. for at least 20 years following lawful permanent residency.""(2) Anyone over 55 years old at the time of their application who has lived in the U.S. for at least 15 years after lawful permanent residency; or(3) Individuals with a medically determinable physical or mental impairment lasting or expected to last 12 months, which prevents them from understanding English. Impairments caused by illegal drug use will not be considered. "Medically determinable" refers to impairments shown by clinically or diagnostically accepted methods that significantly limit functioning and prevent comprehension of English as required."Support the showApaj's Log Episode
