March 16, 2024 ~ Winston Scott grew up in Miami, Florida, earning a B.A. degree in Music from Florida State University and an M.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. For 27 years, he served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot, and in 1992 he was selected by NASA in its 14th class. He was a Mission Specialist on STS-72 in 1996 and a Mission Specialist on STS-87 in 1997.
