Listen "Ep. 47 Interview with Dr. Andrea Neid- pelvic floor expert"
Episode Synopsis
Andrea is a Doctor of PT, mom, owner of Movement Physic and wellness, certified APPI Matwork pilates instructor, helping individuals suffering from back pain, bladder leakage, and treating mamas before, during, and after pregnancy to feel good.
In today's interview I learned so much about the pelvic floor and how this complex set of muscles impacts so much.
Have you ever had bladder leakage? Even just a couple drops? This is common but not normal and can be treated.
Did you know you can even work on the pelvic floor during the last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy? Dr Neid explains that you want to lengthen the pelvic floor so your uterus can do it's job during labor.
During birth, the pelvic floor muscles have the ability to lengthen up to 250% if they have the opportunity and are supported and nourished. Pretty cool right?
If you suffer from back pain, prolapse, bladder leakage, or pain during intercourse you may benefit from pelvic floor PT.
Prevention is key when to comes to keep a health pelvic floor. If you are working on becoming pregnant, pregnant, or a postpartum mama go see a pelvic floor specialist so you can prevent things like prolapse or bladder leakage.
Connect with Andrea below and if you are in CO in the Denver/Arvada area she is taking new clients.
