Such an Egyptian campaign easily fits into the scenario we find in Israel during the time of the Judges, when various foreigners would, from time to time, venture into Canaan and, for a while, conquer Israel, or sections of it. This time period would therefore, by Scriptural record, be during the somewhat disheveled period of Israeli history.
