This episode, we visit Future Biogas. Becky Wheeler, Head of Business Development, and Philipp Lukas, Managing Director, discuss the growth and future of anerobic digestion in agriculture.the anaerobic digestion industry has grown from a novelty in the UK to an established industry with engineering support, processes and experienced operators out in the field. Becky and Phillip discuss the diversification opportunities for UK farming - integrating AD crops into rotation to decarbonise the farm, and provide clean heat for industries stuggling to electrify because they need specificals of biomethane fuel.Future Biogas are an experienced operator, running a significant percentage of the highest performing plants in the UK. Having recently been acquired by 3i Infrastructure Plc in early 2023, 3i Infrastructure’s funding and support mean they can push on with Project Carbon Harvest, their venture to design and operate the next generation of AD plants delivering Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) while helping to decarbonise UK farming.This episode forms part of our Back to the Future project, for Agri-TechE's 10th birthday celebrations.
