Listen "49: Renewed Value in Intergenerational Connecting"
Episode Synopsis
What happens when bright young people are left to their own devices? With Jump Start the Aging Workforce internships, JAWS, high school students not only finished one internship, they launched another self-directed experiment to connect with seniors in long term care. Students were so interested in learning more about the seniors they met in long term care, they decided to start a story project to continue the blossoming relationships. This project includes multi-media platforms to tell the stories; there is music, poetry, painting, photography, written word and much more. With the support of Long-Term Care Ombudsmen, we are happy to know this project launched during Residents Rights Month, October, which is an opportunity to reaffirm that seniors in long term care are unique people with rich histories.Learn more at: https://ppacg.org/pikes-peak-area-agency-on-agingOr call 719-471-2096BEACON Senior News is a proud sponsor/partner for this podcast.
