Clarke explains that the Minstrel Carnival Association insists its parade should not be confused with the Kaapse Klopse carnival, which will take place on Monday, 5th of January along Somerset Road. The association has also voiced concerns about changes to historical routes by other carnival groups, emphasizing the significance of preserving the heritage and legacy of the slave route.
