Alvin and German conduct a great conversation with Universal North America’s Vice President of Legal and Compliance, Susan Burrell, ’87. She leads the Legal and Compliance department and serves as the liaison between Universal North America and multiple organizations. She also plays a key role as regulatory counsel in the development of policies, procedures, and forms required to meet regulatory standards. Before joining Universal North America, she had over 25 years of experience working in various insurance industry legal, compliance, operations, and underwriting positions. After graduating from Colgate University, she earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Upon graduation from law school, Burrell was an in-house attorney for Exxon. Burrell is an admitted member of the Florida, Texas, and New Jersey Bar. While at Colgate, she received her BA in Economics.
