Alvin and German conduct a great conversation with writer, conservationist, and technologist, JP Ortiz, ’10. Professionally, he works in tech sales for Microsoft Surface: U.S. Education serving K-12 and Higher Education customers in the Southeast. Outside of work, he and his wife (Emily Baselt '11) are in the process of building an eco-spiritual retreat center in Costa Rica and are applying JP's skills as a Permaculture Designer using sustainable planning and construction methods. In his community, JP has served on the Advisory Council for Next Generation Men & Women of Atlanta an organization that helps under-resourced youth by closing the opportunity gap by pairing students with professional and career growth experiences. After Colgate, JP earned his his MBA at Emory University - Goizueta Business School in 2018 with a degree in finance and marketing. While at Colgate, he received his B.A. in Spanish and Philosophy.
