All Saints Day. Today the Church honors All Saints.
We, of course, know about many of the saints. Only God knows all of the saints. Therefore, the Church sets aside this day to honor All Saints . . . past and present. In English, people normally associate Sainthood with Holiness. Christians normally associate holiness with people who lived long ago. Yet, the Catholic Church tells us our vocation, without exception, is our own call to holiness.
