For 25 years, Tom worked as a non-life insurance actuary – primarily in reinsurance – before shifting into the non-profit sector. He is now Director of Data & Impact for the Free Speech Union. Starting his career more traditionally as a maths and statistics graduate, Tom tracked a path that entailed both actuarial consultancy and in-house roles, including in 2006 his appointment as the inaugural Chief Actuary for XL Re Europe.
