In a conversation centered around self-worth, Rev. KC joins to talk about their journey and struggles as they have sought to understand caring for themself more. Rev. K.C. Van Atta-Casebier (they/them) has served as an Associate Pastor and Director of Family Ministries at Foundry United Methodist Church since January of 2020. They find their passion at the intersections of LGBTQIA+ advocacy, the work of anti-racism, education, and family life. K.C. believes that young people are the leaders of today — not tomorrow — and works tirelessly to give kids and youth opportunities for full participation and leadership in the church and the community. In return, the youth make fun of their southern accent. K.C. is from Nashville, TN, and spent significant portions of their life in both Montevallo, AL and Martin, TN. They received a B.A. from Trevecca Nazarene University where they majored in Religion and Biology with minors in both Youth Ministry and Genetics. K.C. also played four years of collegiate basketball at Trevecca.
