Listen "#21 - Gill Bland"
Episode Synopsis
This conversation is with sub 3 hour marathoner Gill Bland, who ran her first marathon in Mablethorpe in 2011, her husband and Gill decided they wanted to run London Marathon but didn't want to go through the ballot.
She has a marathon PR of 2:53:22, and was the winner of the 2019 Bournemouth Marathon. Her other achievements include 1st Lake Garda Marathon, 7th Florence Marathon (1st brit and 1st non-elite).
She is a working mother, and we talk about how she is learning to balance motherhood, family life and training seriously again.
Her big goal is to get the US Olympic Trials Qualifying Time of 2:45, not because she is American but as it’s the next target post sub 3.
We speak about Christianity and her faith in her day to day life. She is a big advocate of women’s running and wrote about this before writing for FastRunning.com
